Role Description
Open Inclusion, a disability and age-inclusive research agency based in London and operating globally is looking for a qualitative researcher to support our team designing, conducting and delivering market and consumer insights. We provide broader perspectives and insights that inform better solutions for commercial, government and third sector / social organisations.
This role is for a socially-oriented researcher who can work confidently in a leading inclusive research agency. We deliver high-quality insights using specifically inclusive approaches to ensure that we effectively engage, listen to and understand perspectives that are often under-considered in mainstream research, design and innovation. We have fabulous senior researchers to share skills and build disability-specific research competence. However, we would expect that the candidate would have a sufficient background in qualitative research practices to “hit the ground running”. They will be supporting the senior team deliver accurate, efficient and practical insights from focus groups, interviews, diary studies, co-creation and other participatory research and design approaches.
The candidate will be responsible for:
• Supporting recruitment from our proprietary disability and age-informed insight community
• Crafting clear documentation to participants from Expressions of Interest to pre-research information or thanks yous and what next after the sessions, and engaging with them throughout the research process
• Facilitating sessions or supporting a facilitator by observing and notetaking
• Synthesising findings, aligning quotes or behaviours to themes or code frames
• Working with others in the project team to collaboratively develop deliverables or present them to clients
Qualifications, skills and attitude
• Background in qualitative research methodologies with + 3 years of relevant experience.
• Quantitative research skills are also appreciated but not a requirement
• Demonstrated practical, high-quality communications and research engagement skills that are ethical, clear, considerate and inclusive, whether written or verbal
• Ability to synthesise rich, qualitative information and differentiated, sometimes contradictory perspectives
• Passion for creating and delivering great evidence that drives positive change
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g. psychology, sociology, HCI, human factors, design, business)
• Right to live and work in the UK. We require all researchers to be DBS checked also given the nature of our work.
